About the shop

Learning and planning,
one step at a time.

JCLowe’s Next Chapter Shop is created by Jeannine Lowe, a retired high-school teacher with 22 years of teaching experience.

It brings that teaching approach to practical tools: clear explanations, simple choices, and a chance to apply what you learn. The Retirement Budget & What-If Calculator is the shop’s first product.

Try the idea

One change. A clearer picture.

This free sample uses one expense total. The full calculator includes individual expenses in seven categories, browser saving, and budget-file downloads. Use example amounts; there is no need to enter private information.

Positive = spend more. Negative = spend less.

Your monthly comparison

Set aside for yearly bills: $100.00 per month

Current amount left$650.00
What-if amount left$450.00
This sample does not save your entries. Refreshing restores the example amounts. Yearly bills are divided by 12; this is a monthly set-aside, not a forecast of the bank balance when a bill is due.

A few things to know.

What does the $9.99 offer include?

Twelve months of access to the full browser-based calculator, beginning on the purchase date. It includes individual expense categories, monthly and yearly expense entry, current and what-if results, optional browser saving, and budget-file download and import. There is no automatic renewal. The launch price is in US dollars; applicable taxes will be shown at checkout. Sales are not open yet.

How will I receive and use my access?

The intended delivery is an email containing a unique access key and a calculator link after payment. Access will expire 12 months after purchase. This delivery and verification system is not connected yet. We will test it before accepting payments.

Will my budget entries be sent to the shop?

The calculator runs its budget calculations on your device. Optional saving keeps a copy in your browser, and a downloaded budget file stays wherever you save it. We do not need your budget figures to verify a purchase. Browser storage and downloaded budget files are not encrypted by this tool, and others using the same browser profile or file may see them. Save only on devices you trust. There is no automatic syncing between devices.

Does it tell me whether I can afford to retire?

It compares the income and expenses you enter. It does not forecast investment returns, inflation, taxes, or how long savings will last. It is an educational budgeting tool and cannot establish whether you can afford to retire. It does not provide personalized financial, tax, or investment advice.

What happens when my access ends?

The online calculator will stop accepting the expired access key. There will be no automatic charge. Download your budget file before your access ends if you want to keep a copy of the entries. Keeping that file does not extend access to the calculator. A new purchase will be optional if further access is offered.

Purchase and access terms
